One Teacher One Laptop: How to easily register using a short code
The government, in collaboration with Teacher Unions, has started the distribution of laptops to all teachers in public schools in the country.
Launching the initiative dubbed, ‘One Teacher One Laptop’, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia stated that the project is to help improve the quality of education.
He indicated that teachers will bear 30 per cent of the cost while government absorbs the remaining 70 per cent.
Stressing that the initiative is very important to the Akufo-Addo government, the Vice President noted that effective teaching and learning is critical to developing the human capacity for work, innovation, and creativity.
Registration
During the launch, a shortcode has been announced for teachers to easily register for the laptops.
The shortcode 790555# is to be used by all teachers at the public basic and Senior High Schools.

Below is the simple registration process;
- Dial *790*555#
- Enter Your First Name
- Enter Your Last Name
- Enter Your Staff Identification Number
- Enter an active Electronic Mailing Address (Email)
- A Code Shall be sent to You via Email to be used for identification and Collection of Laptop
Purpose of the Short Code
The short Code directive is meant for verification of Teachers since the particulars of Teachers have already been submitted to the GES.
Collection of Laptop
The Ghana Education Service (GES) shall communicate a favourable day and venue to all teachers for the Collection of their laptops using the Codes being sent to their emails.
Category of Teachers
The GES has started the manual registration of teachers at the Senior High and Junior High Schools.
The registration is still opened to all teachers most especially those that have not yet registered even though those who registered can still take part I the digital process.
Manufacturer of Laptops
The laptop has been manufactured by KA Technologies Ghana Limited, a locally-based ICT firm .
