Our Lady of Grace SHS recorded a commanding 56-point victory over Bishop Herman College and Ejisuman SHS at the CNC Auditorium to secure qualification to the quarterfinal stage of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
Our Lady of Grace SHS Secures Quarterfinal Spot
The Our Lady of Grace Senior High School (OLAG) has booked its place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after a remarkable performance against Bishop Herman College and Ejisuman SHS at the CNC Auditorium.
OLAG finished with an impressive 56 points, outclassing Bishop Herman College, who secured 39 points, while Ejisuman SHS ended the contest with 27 points.
This victory marks one of the most dominant performances of the one-eighth stage so far, positioning OLAG as a serious contender for this year’s national title.
Round-by-Round Highlights
The contest began evenly in Round One, with Our Lady of Grace SHS and Bishop Herman College tied at 18 points each, while Ejisuman SHS followed closely with 15 points.
In Round Two, OLAG began to pull away, demonstrating exceptional accuracy and speed to end with 39 points. Bishop Herman College and Ejisuman SHS finished with 18 and 17 points respectively.
The Problem of the Day, sponsored by Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, saw Bishop Herman College perform best with 5 out of 10, while OLAG and Ejisuman SHS managed 1 and 0 respectively.
By Round Four, OLAG extended their lead to 50 points, while Bishop Herman College and Ejisuman SHS earned 36 and 27 points respectively.
In the final GOIL PLC Riddle Bonanza, OLAG’s quick thinking secured a final score of 56 points, sealing their advancement to the quarterfinals.
OLAG’s Rising Reputation
Our Lady of Grace SHS continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Ghana’s fastest-rising academic institutions. Their calm strategy, teamwork, and strong grasp of scientific concepts were evident throughout the contest, earning admiration from fans and competitors alike.
Bishop Herman College, a former NSMQ champion, displayed commendable effort but struggled to close the gap, while Ejisuman SHS maintained resilience despite the stiff competition.
