Accra, Ghana – 15 May 2025
The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, has levelled serious allegations against former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing them of awarding School Feeding Programme contracts to personal associates instead of loyal party members.
Claims of Cronyism and Neglect
Speaking on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original TV, Alhaji Masawudu alleged that the NDC leadership has prioritised “girlfriends and slay queens” over dedicated party operatives when allocating contracts under the Ghana School Feeding Programme.
“John Dramani Mahama and the NDC have decided to neglect core party members to give the School Feeding Programme to their girlfriends and slay queens,” he claimed.
He further added, “They should focus on their mandate of providing nkoko nkitinkiti to Ghanaians,” referring to the nutritious local meals the programme is intended to supply.
‘I Swear to Almighty God’ – Masawudu Defends Claim
Alhaji Masawudu, known for his candid remarks, defended his assertions, claiming he has credible evidence to support his accusations, including a viral video featuring an NDC constituency women’s organiser.
“I swear to Almighty God, I am a Muslim and I won’t lie,” he declared.
In the video cited, the NDC women’s organiser is purported to threaten that party women may “attack the slay queens” if the trend is not halted — suggesting internal discontent within the NDC over alleged favouritism.
No Official Response from NDC Yet
As of the time of reporting, the National Democratic Congress has not issued an official response to the claims made by Alhaji Masawudu. The allegations are expected to heighten political tensions as the country edges closer to the 2024 general elections.
