The University of Ghana branch of UTAG has reiterated its opposition to the Public Universities Bill (PUB), calling on the government to withdraw it immediately from Parliament.

At a news conference in Accra, the university lecturers at Legon said the bill is unconstitutional, unnecessary, and will create more problems than it claims to solve.

The lecturers added that the bill when passed into law will do more harm to education in the country and outlook of universities than good.

Meanwhile, the National Executive Committee of UTAG has distanced itself from the news Conference of the Legon UTAG branch.

According to NEC, the event has not been sanctioned by the mother Union.
