“It has come to the notice of management that some students do not observe the Dress Code of the Faculty. All students are required to dress in accordance with Faculty’s Dress Code,” the Law Faculty department stated.
KNUST added that “students are therefore cautioned to dress properly and desist from wearing miniskirts (above the knee level), sleeveless top, lace tops, and other dresses that will subject the image of the Law profession to dispute.”
The University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in line with the Technology university has similarly authorised its lecturers to sack prospective students who are improperly dressed and expose vital parts of their bodies from lecture halls.
The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Abednego F. O. Amartey, in his address at the 2021 matriculation of the Professional university said this will ensure students are disciplined and act as good ambassadors of the University.
Mr Abednego F. O. Amartey told the 2021 matriculants that indecent dressing to lectures violates the rules of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) and goes contrary to their to adhere to a professional appearance at all times.
Stressing on the need to be disciplined, Abednego urged the newly admitted students to take their academic work seriously. “The distance between today’s ceremony and your graduation ceremony is quite wide,” the Professor said.
