KA Technologies to begin distribution of Laptops to Teachers in August

Following a meeting between the leadership of Teacher Unions and K.A Technologies, the computer company says it in due course will resume the distribution of laptops to teachers under the One Teacher, One Laptop initiative.

The management of K.A. said the purpose of the meeting held on May 31, 2023, was to inspect the stock and discuss the plan for resumption of the distribution of the Mate 1 laptop to teachers.

“Furtherance to the meeting held with the leadership of the Teacher Union at the Offices of K.A Technologies on May 31, 2023, to inspect stock and discuss the resumption of distribution of the laptops. I forward herewith you the revised schedule for the distribution as agreed.” the letter to the Unions said.

According to the revised schedule, the distribution of laptops under the ‘One Teacher, One Laptop’ policy’ will be carried out in phases across different regions in the country. The dates for the distribution are as follows:

As the distribution seeks to ensure all teaching and non-teaching staff benefit from the ‘1 teacher, 1 laptop policy, the laptops procured by the government are aimed to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in public schools.

The One Teacher, One Laptop policy is a government initiative in collaboration with Teacher Unions to support the vision of the Ghana Education Service of creating an enabling environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
