A disturbing incident has been reported at Jachie Pramso Senior High School (SHS) in the Ashanti Region, where a final-year female student, Mary Amoako, was allegedly assaulted by the school’s headmaster. The incident occurred after Mary showed compassion to a male student who had been punished for not wearing a school uniform.
According to reports, the male student was ordered by the headmaster to return to his dormitory half-naked as part of the punishment. In an act of kindness, 19-year-old Mary Amoako offered her jacket to the boy after the headmaster had left the scene.
However, the situation escalated when the headmaster later saw the male student wearing the jacket and discovered that Mary had given it to him. Witnesses claim the headmaster became enraged and physically assaulted Mary, resulting in serious bruises and visible injuries on her body.

Child rights activists and education stakeholders have also expressed concern, condemning the use of excessive force and abuse of authority in educational institutions.
Many are questioning the school’s disciplinary procedures and are urging the Ghana Education Service (GES) to urgently intervene. As of now, there has been no official statement from the school’s administration or the GES regarding the matter.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about corporal punishment in schools and the need for a safer and more respectful learning environment for all students.
