Upgrading is done at the Ghana Education Service when a teacher or staff of the GES went for further studies and wanted to use the certificate to gain points into higher ranks.

The higher ranks include Principal Superintendeeeeeeeeeee, Assitant Director, Director etc.

Upgrading to Principal Superintendent needs a degree in education whilst the rest need a master’s in education.

The letter should be sent to the Director General through the Regional Director of Education as well as the District Director of Education respectively.

The letter should state the purpose and the need to be reactivated indicating the cause of being off the service with credible documents to support one’s claims.
