Addressing the Council at the inauguration, Dr. Osei Adutwum, extolled UEW for the strides that propelled it to become the fastest-growing University in the country. He commended the Management and the previous Council of the University for steering the University towards that enviable direction.

“I commend all those who were part of the Council for the leadership that you have shown, demonstrated in the face of difficulties and challenges, steering the affairs of your institution to greater heights under some very difficult and trying circumstances which I hope we will put behind us in this regime,” he stressed.

The Minister of Education assured the Council of his maximum support. He, however, implored them to put behind all rankles and challenges that had besieged the University in past and to focus on the University’s core mandate of transforming Ghana through education.

“Your University is better placed than many in terms of the critical role that you can play in transforming the affairs of this nation. Consequently, I charge you as the Council to provide that leadership; a leadership that will bring peace and tranquillity to your campus,” he noted.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, in his remarks, pledged the Council’s readiness to do its very best to steer the affairs of UEW to new heights of academic excellence and greatness.
