Ghana National College delivered an exceptional performance to book their place in the NSMQ 2025 quarterfinals, defeating Tema Secondary School and Effiduase SHCS at the SGS Auditorium.

The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) 2025 One-Eighth Stage opened with a thrilling contest at the SGS Auditorium, where Ghana National College emerged victorious, defeating Tema Secondary School and Effiduase Senior High Commercial School (SHCS) to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Cape Coast-based school displayed consistent brilliance and composure across all five rounds, earning admiration from fans and setting a strong tone for their next challenge.


Round-by-Round Breakdown

Round 1:
Ghana National College started strong, leading with 20 points, followed by Tema Secondary School (14 points) and Effiduase SHCS (10 points).

Round 2 (TrusturAI Speed Race):
The lead widened as Ghana National College climbed to 34 points, while Tema Secondary and Effiduase trailed with 16 and 7 points, respectively.

Round 3 (Problem of the Day):
The highlight came when Ghana National College scored 9 out of 10, closely followed by Effiduase SHCS with 8 out of 10, while Tema Secondary managed 4 out of 10. The round was proudly sponsored by Prudential Life Insurance Ghana.

Round 4:
Momentum continued as Ghana National College increased their total to 59 points, leaving Tema Secondary at 33 and Effiduase at 22 before the final round — the GOIL PLC Riddle Bonanza.

Final Round:
The contest concluded with Ghana National College scoring 65 points, Tema Secondary School 33 points, and Effiduase SHCS 28 points.
