Ghana lacked the skill to transform Resources into Finished goods- Education Minister

The Minister of Education,Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has stated that Ghana lacked the skill to transform its resources into finished goods.

The Minister said although Ghana is one of the leading producers of raw materials such as gold and cocoa, the country still lacked the skill to transform these resources into finished goods to rake in higher profits.

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh made this revelation when  a delegation from Germany led by the Minister of Education, Mrs. Anja Karliczek paid him a visit in his office on Tuesday,July 30,2019 as part of their 3-day working visit to Ghana.

The visit was to further strengthen the relationship between Ghana and Germany as well as discuss how the future looks for us with regards to cooperation in education.

Mrs. Karliczek said  Germany continues to hold Ghana in high esteem and was impressed with Ghana’s  reformation agenda in education especially when it came to the revamp of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

To this effect, Mrs. Karliczek reiterated Germany’s commitment to supporting Ghana in the area of skills development and technical training toward her Ghana Beyond Aid agenda.

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh indicated that Ghana was eager to learn from Germany, the leaders in TVET in order to turn her fortunes.

He also admitted that Ghana was a long way from the finish line but the Country was willing to set the right foundation now for continuous development in future.

Both Ministers signed an agreement to seal the deal to continue together on their development agenda.
