The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the complete timetable, reporting requirements, and administrative directives for the 2025 teachers’ promotion examinations, scheduled for 29–30 December 2025. The exams cover AD II, PS, AD I, and Deputy Director ranks.

GES Confirms Dates for 2025 Teacher Promotion Exams

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the full schedule for the 2025 Promotion Examinations for Teachers, confirming that the written assessments will take place on Monday, 29 December 2025, and Tuesday, 30 December 2025.The announcement was issued in a circular dated 6 December 2025, signed by Dr. Munawaru Issahaque (PhD), Acting Deputy Director-General (Quality and Access), on behalf of the Acting Director-General of GES.The circular was addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, who have been tasked to ensure that every eligible teacher across the country receives the information promptly.

Monday, 29 December 2025

  • Assistant Director II (AD II)9:00 a.m.
  • Principal Superintendent (PS)12:00 noon

Tuesday, 30 December 2025

  • Assistant Director I (AD I)9:00 a.m.
  • Deputy Director (DD)12:00 noon
GES has directed all candidates to report to their designated examination centres not later than 8:30 a.m. on each day of the exam. Candidates must present their original Ghana Card along with any required materials upon arrival.The Service further stated that the examination venues, list of eligible candidates, and invigilation rosters will be communicated to the regions in the coming days.

Teacher Unions Engaged to Disseminate Information

GES has formally requested the leadership of GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT to circulate the information among their members to ensure maximum participation.The circular emphasises the need for cooperation among all education stakeholders as the Service continues to streamline its promotion processes.
