The Concern Citizens of Wudoaba-Akato in the Aflao Traditional Area of the Ketu South Municipality have postponed planned teacher awards ceremony indefinitely.
The postponement follows calls from Aflao District Police to cancel the programme to avert arrest.
In a statement signed and issued by, The Convener of the Group, Ferguson Ahorlu to the media said, “this postponement is premised on the fact that numerous calls have come and are still coming from authorities especially the Police Service demanding that we halt the programme”.

Mr Ahorlu submitted that “we write with this heavy heart to inform the general public that our scheduled award ceremony for today (2nd April 2020) has been postponed”, and “as law-abiding citizens, we do not want to flout government orders, therefore, our reason to postpone the programme”.

It is believed that the reason for the cancellation of the Award was due to government’s order to ensure all citizens stay indoors to prevent the spread of the novel COVID-19 Pandemic.
