A UNESCO report shows that more than one billion children are at home and 60 million teachers are not in the classroom following the closure of educational institutions worldwide, in wake of the global pandemic caused by the coronavirus.
Clearly the educational sector has been severely hit and children are affected.
To ensure that children are engaged while schools remain under lock-down, Project Director of Special Attention Project, Richard Opoku, says besides home tutorials, families should learn to create time for their children.
He said this is indeed a very good opportunity for families to bond, but was quick to add that there is the need to adhere to social distancing to keep families safe amidst COVID-19.

Senior High School students, on the other hand, are expected to visit online to study all core subjects for free amidst the Coronavirus (COVID-19) break.
The Ministry of Education Ghana has created an online study platform for all senior high school students.

Plan International, has provided the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service with 5 studios to be used for teaching Basic and Senior High School Students using the traditional media, comprising Television and radio.
