Charles Adu-Baah Jnr beat six others in campus-wide elections on Wednesday, April 17 to become the President-elect of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He polled 11, 225 of the total valid votes cast, representing 65.96 per cent, to become the winner.
He is set to replace Kelvin Sah, who has served the role since April, 2018.
ABC, as the next President is affectionately called, will be the first leader of the SRC after last year’s violent demonstration, which led to the closure of the school.
He will be the students’ representative on the University Council.
Meanwhile, Miriam Serwaa Akoto Ansah has also been elected General Secretary after polling 7,859 votes.
Maxwell Boakye Danso also beat Conrad Boakye Yiadom and David Sedodzi to be elected the Financial Secretary.
Esinam Sosu-Dees also beat her challenger Rebecca Ohemeng Appiah to become the next Women’s Commissioner.
The results were declared by KNUST Electoral Commissioner Akwasi Nti Awuah.
A total of 17,019 students voted though 17,046 were verified.
