Teachers in the Public Basic Schools shall be motivated by government as part of the introduction and implementation of the New Standard-Based Curriculum.
As part of their motivation,government has taken the cost of their termly Professional Development Day Trainings ,which has been included in the 2019/20 Academic Calendar.
The Director General of the GES,Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said this in an interview on Friday,September 13,2019 on United Television in Accra.

In his response to a question on teacher motivation at the Basic School Level, Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said teachers who shall take part in the Professional Development Day Training shall be issued with certificates.
This ,he said can be used to renew teachers’ license,one major recommendation by the National Teaching Council before renewing licenses for teachers in the future.
