Accra College of Education on Tuesday, 12th May, 2020 ,responded massively to the needs of its students by providing over 600 metal beds to furnish their halls of residence.
The project, being one of the main priorities of the College’s SRC, according to the spokesperson of the association, Master Ebenezer Danso has been viewed as a huge boost in the quest to permanently eradicate the presence of bedbugs in the halls of residence and also give it a face lift.
Speaking to THE MEDIA TEAM, Master Ebenezer said “we are very happy to see these (new metal beds), coming to change the existing situation in our halls of residence for the better. This is the fruit of the SRC’s constant dialogues with Management to improve the living condition of students on campus since the regular fumigation method employed earlier on has not sufficed.”
Reporters went further to speak with the Head of the association, H. E Bright Bosomtwe who seized the opportunity to commend Management of the City College for the great effort and support in making sure Accra College of Education remains a model for the other colleges in the country in creating enabling environmental conditions for effective teaching and learning.
Oliver Twist would always ask for more therefore the president’s petition to the College’s management to get the other needful projects done and in time to improve students’ experience in the college did not come as a surprise.
His final words went as an encouragement to the Students populace to inculcate the habit of good use and maintenance culture to ensure these projects last longer.
The college also received on the same day 5 big waste bins as a donation from the Greater Accra Regional Mayor, Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah for the improvement of sanitation in the college.
