Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor has been inducted as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), ushering in a promising era of transformation and innovation. Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor’s academic journey and professional accomplishments make him uniquely qualified to lead UPSA. With over 17 years of experience in higher education and the financial sector, he is an accomplished Associate Professor of Accounting.
As a former Dean of Graduate Studies, he expanded UPSA’s graduate programs from nine to 21 between 2016 and 2022, showcasing his dedication to academic innovation. His research focuses on governance, accounting, and combating capital flight in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Prof. Mawutor is also a passionate anti-corruption advocate and a member of prestigious professional bodies, including the Institute of Fraud Examiners (USA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG).
