US Ambassador Sullivan Visits KNUST

The Ambassador of the United States of America (U.S.A.) to Ghana, Her Excellency Stephanie S. Sullivan has visited the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), as part of a working visit to the Ashanti Region.

The Ambassador was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson and some members of the University management at the Council Chamber on Wednesday, 21st April 2021.

Professor Dickson expressed her satisfaction with the collaboration that has existed between KNUST and the U.S.A so far. She stated that KNUST has over 40 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with U.S.A. institutions and indicated that KNUST places high values on partnerships. She enumerated some of the key collaborations with U.S. institutions in the area of scholarships, staff and student exchanges, capacity building and joint research.

The Vice-Chancellor said the University thrives on quality teaching and learning, impactful research, entrepreneurship training and community engagement.  She explained that the University can achieve these through effective collaboration with its development partners.  She assured the delegates that KNUST would continue to liaise with them and even do more by way of contributing its quota to the development of Ghana and the African continent.

Her Excellency Sullivan in her address thanked management of KNUST for the long-standing relationship that has existed between the US and the University. Ambassador Sullivan was hopeful that the Embassy in Ghana and KNUST will continue to explore mutually beneficial opportunities.
