The National Chairman of the Senior Staff Association speaking at the press conference said the government’s response in the ongoing negotiations indicates it is not willing to improve their conditions of service.

Mr Abdul-Majeed Yussif noted the migration of the payroll of public universities onto the controller and accountant general’s payroll system among others are their concern.

The leadership said it has reiterated its call on the government to come to terms with their demands to prevent a possible nationwide strike action coming Monday, October 19, 2020.

“We reiterate our call to government to stop the subtle moves to do so. Instead, we strongly advocate for special dispensation akin to that granted to the security services and other public institutions with respect to salary administration.”, the National Chairman stated.
