The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana (UG) is set to present a comprehensive report on e-learning to the management of the University of Ghana.
The report will feature the routine experience of students following the migration of teaching and learning onto online platforms. The report will also put a spotlight on the day-to-day challenges students have encountered during the two-week trial period of the system.
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo in March 2020 shut down all educational institutions in the country. This came after Ghana recorded its first cases of the Novel Coronavirus. Following that, on March 23, 2020, the University of Ghana directed all lecturers to resort to distant learning modules to instruct students for the remaining weeks of the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year after it shut down on March 16.
However, the decision to roll out the distance learning program was met with stiff opposition from students. The students cited many challenges with the system.

Following that, the SRC has moved in earnest to allay to management the woes of students. The SRC through the various departmental leaders is calling on students to relay their reservations to their respective departmental presidents or school representatives.
The SRC hopes to get these issues resolved before the e-learning system is in full force.
