Recent developments pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak has left the government of Ghana no choice than to close down all schools to curb the outbreak of the disease.
The closing down of schools also came as a relief since one of the country’s university’s recorded a case of the novel virus in its jurisdiction.
Speaking at the ministries’ press briefing on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Honourable minister in charge of education made if known that despite close down of schools across the country, plans are far underway to bring students of UG and other universities back online to continue the semester.

The leadership of UG has stated that from March 30 to May 15, 2020, its students will be engaged through this electronic platforms.
According to TV XYZ, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu has engaged Vodafone Ghana to enable good lesson delivery and access by students anywhere they find themselves
In this development, once talks are completed, Vodafone Ghana is supposed to distribute specific sim cards to students of the university to enable them access free internet for studying since they have already paid school fees that include internet usage levies.
