The ILWGAWS Project, in collaboration with the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), invites applications for three (3) scholarships for the 2024/2025 academic year. Supported by the Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate (GCBC), Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), and UKAID, these scholarships are tailored for applicants pursuing an MPhil in Geography Education at UEW’s Department of Geography.

 

 

Scholarship Requirements:

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Geography, Planning, Environment, Social Studies, or related fields.
  • Achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.9.
  • Be from the Western Region of Ghana or possess familiarity with the region’s ecosystem.
  • Commit to writing a thesis on the Greater Amanzule Wetland Systems.
  • Successfully pass an interview conducted by the University.

  1. Application Letter
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  3. Certificates
  4. Academic Transcripts
  5. A 5-page proposal (including references) related to topics such as hydrological systems, climate change, spatial planning, ecosystem services, carbon offset, community resource management, or policy evaluation.
  6. Academic Recommendation Letter

 

Scholarship Duration:

The scholarship covers a two-year period.
