Ferdinand EducationGhana | January 17 | Salary Validation Alert: CAGD System Update May Affect January 2026 Payments

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department  (CAGD)has initiated a validator data update, prompting urgent guidance for salary validation ahead of January 2026 payments.

CAGD Initiates Validator Data Update

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has requested updated information on all salary validators nationwide, a move believed to be part of an ongoing system upgrade.

The exercise, which commenced within the past week, is expected to affect the salary validation process for January 2026, particularly within the Ghana Education Service and other public sector institutions.

As a result of the update, validators may encounter access challenges or unexpected changes on the validation portal. Authorities are therefore urging all officers involved in salary validation to exercise caution and strictly follow laid-down procedures to avoid wrongful validation or payment delays.

Temporary Access Challenges Expected

Validators who experience difficulties accessing the portal using their usual login credentials have been advised to attempt access using the system’s default password.

Additionally, the system currently supports two validators per office, and officers are encouraged to verify access using the alternate validator’s details where necessary. Officials caution that these challenges are not unusual during system upgrades and should be handled calmly and professionally to prevent errors that could affect staff salaries.

Caution Over Missing or Unknown Staff Names

Validators who gain access to the portal and notice missing staff records or unfamiliar names are strongly advised not to proceed with validation immediately.

Instead, they should consult their School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) or Human Resource (HR) officer for clarification and official guidance before taking any action.     This step is considered critical in preventing validation errors that could lead to salary anomalies or audit queries.

When to Contact the District Education Office

In situations where both validators are unable to access the portal, affected officers are required to promptly notify the District Education Office for a possible reconfiguration or reactivation of validator credentials.

Any other technical challenges beyond the validator’s control should also be reported through the appropriate administrative channels.     Authorities have assured staff that further directives will be issued should additional changes arise during the validation period.
