Full Schedule of NSMQ 2025

The roadmap to the Grand Finale spans nearly three weeks of heated contests:

  • Preliminary Stage: October 13 – 17, 2025
  • One-Eighth Stage: October 19 – 21, 2025
  • Quarter-Final Stage: October 23 – 25, 2025

These stages will see top schools from all regions battle for supremacy and the coveted NSMQ trophy.

What to Expect This Year

The NSMQ is not only about competition but also about innovation, teamwork, and national pride. Over the years, schools such as Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC, Legon), Opoku Ware School, St. Peter’s SHS, Adisadel College, and Keta SHTS have cemented their legacies in the competition. This year, expectations are high, with both traditional powerhouses and rising schools aiming to make history. The Oti, Bono East, and North East Regions, which have shown steady improvement in recent years, may provide the biggest surprises in NSMQ 2025. According to education analysts, the 2025 edition could see more girl schools and mixed schools breaking barriers to reach the advanced stages of the contest.

NSMQ’s Impact on STEM Education

The NSMQ has been a vital platform for promoting STEM education in Ghana. Beyond the excitement, it nurtures critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence among students. The contest also motivates schools to invest more in science laboratories, libraries, and teacher support. Education think tanks, including Africa Education Watch, have consistently pointed out that the NSMQ serves as both a learning experience and a benchmark for academic performance across the country.

Where to Follow NSMQ 2025

The contests will be broadcast live on Joy News (Multimedia Group) and across various social media platforms, including NSMQ Ghana’s official X (Twitter) page and Facebook. Fans can also get real-time updates on the official website, nsmq.com.gh.
