The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has directed the GES to investigate 18 teachers in Amansie Central who promoted themselves without proper documentation, causing a GH¢188,000 financial loss to the state.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has issued a directive to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to investigate 18 teachers in Amansie Central for allegedly promoting themselves without following the legal procedures governing the GES.
According to a report from the Amansie Central Education Directorate, these teachers unlawfully upgraded themselves without the necessary documentation, leading to unauthorized salary increases. This action has resulted in a financial loss of GH¢188,000 to the state.
The PAC has expressed serious concerns over the breach of protocol and the resulting financial implications. The committee has tasked the GES with thoroughly investigating the matter to ensure accountability and compliance with the regulations governing teacher promotions within the service.
