NTC Opens Registration for 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Exams — Full Process, Fees, and Deadline

Overview: 2025 GTLE Registration Begins for Degree-Holders and Re-sit Candidates

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially begun the registration process for the 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE 1). The registration applies to both fresh candidates and re-sitters with Bachelor of Education degrees or Postgraduate Diplomas in Education.

This examination, mandated by the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 (Act 1023), is designed to assess whether aspiring teachers meet the professional standards in knowledge, values, practice, and pedagogical skills.

The registration window closes on July 7, 2025, with no extensions allowed.

🧾 Eligibility Criteria for 2025 GTLE

To qualify for the 2025 GTLE:

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Education Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
Those with foreign qualifications must present an evaluation report from Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
Indexing is compulsory for fresh candidates.

📌 Re-sit candidates do not need to go through the indexing process again.

Before registering, fresh candidates must verify their indexing status:

Visit https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh to confirm your data upload.
Pay GH₵50.00 indexing fee via:
- Any Prudential Bank branch
- Mobile Money: Dial *772*51# using your institution’s index number.
Receive an SMS with your indexing number.
Log in to verify your details before using the indexing number to register for GTLE.

🚨 Note: Only pay after your training institution has uploaded your data.

Obtain Serial Number and PIN (for bank payments).
Log on to: https://exams.ntc.gov.gh
Enter Serial & PIN, fill in the form, and upload a passport-size photo (max 250kb, white background).
Print your summary and read exam rules before final submission.
Secure your Serial Number and PIN for future reference.

📌 Key Reminders for Candidates

No refunds for unqualified applicants who pay.
No change of uploaded photo will be permitted.
Don’t use one phone number for multiple voucher purchases.
Formal/professional dress code required at exam centers.
Babies are not allowed in exam halls.

⚠️ This GTLE phase is the last opportunity for re-sitters. Any candidate who fails must restart the professional licensing process in 2026.

Grade-level Pedagogy (Early Grade, Primary, JHS, SHS, TVET)
Subject Content Knowledge
- Multiple Subjects: For Early Grade/Primary trainees
- Single Subject: For JHS/SHS/TVET trainees
