Overview: 2025 GTLE Registration Begins for Degree-Holders and Re-sit Candidates
The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially begun the registration process for the 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE 1). The registration applies to both fresh candidates and re-sitters with Bachelor of Education degrees or Postgraduate Diplomas in Education.
This examination, mandated by the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 (Act 1023), is designed to assess whether aspiring teachers meet the professional standards in knowledge, values, practice, and pedagogical skills.
The registration window closes on July 7, 2025, with no extensions allowed.
🧾 Eligibility Criteria for 2025 GTLE
To qualify for the 2025 GTLE:
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Education Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
- Those with foreign qualifications must present an evaluation report from Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
- Indexing is compulsory for fresh candidates.
📌 Re-sit candidates do not need to go through the indexing process again.

- Visit https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh to confirm your data upload.

- Receive an SMS with your indexing number.
- Log in to verify your details before using the indexing number to register for GTLE.

- No refunds for unqualified applicants who pay.
- No change of uploaded photo will be permitted.
- Don’t use one phone number for multiple voucher purchases.
- Formal/professional dress code required at exam centers.
- Babies are not allowed in exam halls.
