NTC and GES Announce CPD Day for Teachers
The National Teaching Council (NTC), in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES), has set November 7, 2025, as the National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day for all pre-tertiary teachers across Ghana.
According to an official notice issued by the NTC’s Public Affairs Unit, the training will focus on Cybersecurity and Data Protection — a crucial area in education management and professional ethics in the digital era.
Focus on Cybersecurity and Data Protection
The NTC explained that the CPD programme aims to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills to protect digital information, safeguard student data, and ensure compliance with Ghana’s data protection regulations.
The training will also count towards teachers’ license renewal and annual CPD credit requirements, reinforcing the professional accountability framework within the GES.
Directives to Education Leaders and Unions
The statement urged all Directors of Education, as well as leaders of teacher unions and professional associations, to inform their members and ensure maximum participation.
The event has been described as an essential national exercise for all pre-tertiary educators under the GES.
Public Schools to Observe Holiday for Learners
To facilitate full participation, the NTC and GES have declared November 7, 2025, as a holiday for all learners in public schools nationwide.
This arrangement ensures that teachers can fully engage in the professional training without disrupting academic schedules.
