TAMALE — The bursar of the Northern School of Business Senior High School (NOBISCO), Ms. Fedelia Kudaariwo, has turned herself in to the police after being implicated in the alleged theft of large quantities of foodstuffs belonging to the school.
According to sources, the incident came to light on Thursday, October 30, 2025, when a team of community volunteers intercepted a school minibus loaded with nine bags of maize. The volunteers apprehended two drivers, Alhassan Sulemana and Osman Asma, who were reportedly transporting the items off campus.
The volunteers explained that suspicions had been growing after some students hinted at a possible syndicate smuggling food from the stores at night. Acting on these tips, the volunteers monitored the situation and caught the vehicle attempting to leave with the food supplies.
Upon questioning, one of the drivers allegedly named the bursar as the person who instructed them to deliver the items to her residence. The volunteers, accompanied by local witnesses, proceeded to her house, where more foodstuffs were reportedly found.
However, Ms. Kudaariwo had already fled the scene before the team arrived. She later surrendered herself to the police, who have since begun an investigation into the incident.
The Headmaster of NOBISCO, Mr. Alhassan Dokurugu, confirmed awareness of the case, expressing disappointment over the development.
“It is very disheartening that while the management is working hard to project the positive image of the school, such incidents tarnish our efforts,” he stated.
He assured that the school’s administration is fully cooperating with police and education authorities to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.
The alleged theft has sparked discussions among parents, alumni, and community members, many of whom have called for tighter oversight of school resources to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
