Ferdinand | EducationGhana | December 03 | KNUST Issues Fresh Advisory on 2025/2026 Admissions and Cut-off Points
KNUST has released new guidance for 2025/2026 applicants, including aggregate requirements, handling of awaiting results, and updated cut-off points for all programmes.
Aggregate Requirement for WASSCE Applicants
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has reminded all applicants that the total aggregate score for the required six subjects must not exceed 24 for WASSCE holders. The university noted that this remains one of the core eligibility checks during the admissions process. The advisory aims to help applicants assess their readiness before submitting their forms for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Updated Cut-off Points Released
The university has also published the cut-off points for various programmes. The cut-off point serves as the range of grades an applicant must attain to be considered for a particular programme. KNUST stressed that meeting the stated cut-off does not guarantee automatic admission, since placement depends on competition and available spaces. Prospective students are therefore encouraged to review the details before making their programme selections.
Guidelines for Applicants Using Awaiting Results
Applicants submitting forms with awaiting results have been assured that they can either upload their WASSCE results when they become available or leave the section blank. KNUST has confirmed that the admissions office will download the results directly from WAEC. This update removes pressure from candidates who may be waiting for official confirmation of their grades.
