The Ministry of Finance shall commence the Biometric Registration of the 2018 Newly Trained Teachers.
The exercise is expected to begin Tuesday, April 21, 2020, in the designated centres across the country.
A report by the News Desk of Colleges of Education Journal further suggests that the time table for the biometric exercise shall soon be communicated to the teachers.
Suspension of Biometric Registration
The Biometric Registration of the 2018 batch of newly trained teachers was suspended due to an earlier imposition of movements and gatherings by President AkkufoAddo due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Finance Ministry was left with no option than to suspend the registration indefinitely.
A situation that has led to a halt in the registration of the majority of teachers.;
Teachers’ Agitations
Majority of the Teachers who were affected by the decision n complained about their inability to receive their salaries during the partial lockdown period of the OVID-19 Pandemic.
The teachers described the situation as a total neglect and cruel treatments meted out to them over the government’s inability to pay them their salaries.
They describe themselves as an unfortunate year group that had to go through tight government policies before been posted to their permanent stations.

Earlier this week, newly trained teachers who have been issued with Staff Identification Numbers without undergoing the mandatory biometric verification Exercise were being validated to take their April Salaries.
