President Akuffo Addo has announced dates for reopening of all Pre-tertiary and tertiary educational institutions.
The president, during his 21st update on the prevention of Covid-19 on Sunday, January 3, 2021, said that Basic Schools shall resume on January 15, 2021.
“Our children must go to school…. we are satisfied that in the current circumstances the reopening of our schools is safe. So from 15th January, our children in Kindergarten, primary and Junior High in both private and public schools will be back in school”, president Akufo-Addo Announced.
SHS 1
According to him, SHS 1 students shall resume March 10 ,2021 to start their Academic year.
He was however optimistic that the SHS 1 Students shall not be engaged in the double-track system.

SHS2 & 3
President Akuffo Addo said that SHS 2 and 3 students shall resume on January 18, 2021.
The president said the SHS students shall no longer engage in the double-track system.
He indicated that the SHS2 Students shall continue with the double-track system.

Tertiary
The president said all Universities and other tertiary institutions shall resume January 9, 2020.
