The government has announced a GHS 300 million investment to upgrade senior high school infrastructure nationwide, with Mawuli School receiving GHS 50,000 from the Vice President during its 75th Anniversary celebration.
Government Backs Education Development in Volta Region
During the 75th Anniversary celebration of Mawuli School in Ho on October 25, 2025, the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, announced a GHS 300 million investment to expand infrastructure in selected Category A and B schools across Ghana.
The initiative is part of government’s renewed focus on improving educational facilities and creating equitable learning conditions nationwide.
Vice President’s Personal Donation to Mawuli School
On behalf of Her Excellency the Vice President, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu also presented a GHS 50,000 donation to Mawuli School in support of its development projects. The contribution is expected to assist the school in enhancing academic and residential facilities for its growing student population.
More Educational Projects for the Volta Region
The Education Minister further revealed plans to establish a School of Pharmacology and Biomedical Engineering in Keta, a new university in Jasikan, and a Centre of Excellence Special School in Ho. These upcoming projects are intended to make the Volta Region a key hub for tertiary and technical education.
Commendation for Mawuli School
In his remarks, Hon. Iddrisu commended Mawuli School for maintaining high academic standards, discipline, and leadership over its 75-year journey. He described the school as “a beacon of moral and intellectual strength in the Volta Region and Ghana as a whole.”
