The final day of the 2024 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Quarter-finals ended with a dramatic twist as Ghana National College clinched a last-minute victory over Opoku Ware School, securing their place in the Semi-finals with a score of 46 points.

The electrifying contest kept the packed SGS Auditorium buzzing with excitement, as students from Opoku Ware School, Ghana National College, and Aburi Presby SHTS cheered their teams with thunderous “jama” songs, fueling the intense atmosphere.

 

A Fierce Battle from the Start

The competition began with all three schools in close contention, each determined to claim every point possible. Opoku Ware School took the lead after Round One with 28 points, while Aburi Presby SHTS and Ghana National College followed closely with 23 and 20 points, respectively.

 

Speed and Precision in Round Two

The pace quickened in the ‘Prudential Life Insurance Speed Race’ as Opoku Ware School and Ghana National College competed with remarkable speed and precision. Opoku Ware extended their lead to 34 points, but Ghana National College faltered, losing a point due to incorrect answers. Despite this setback, the supporters remained vocal, singing their school anthems and setting the stage for a tense Round Three.

 

A Stunning Comeback in the Problem of the Day
