✅ Overview of the 2025 GES School Selection Guidelines

The Ghana Education Service (GES), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has released the official guidelines for the 2025 School Selection Process for Junior High School (JHS) students transitioning to Senior High Schools (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

This year’s guidelines introduce key updates to boarding and day school placements, the Category A/B/C school classification, and the priority placement rules every parent and student must understand.

Day & Boarding Restrictions in 2025 BECE School Selection

Applicable ONLY to the First Five (5) Main Choices

Restriction Rule:
Students must select a maximum of 3 Boarding Schools in their first five main choices. This allows flexibility while managing school placement logistics.
✅ Permissible Combinations for First 5 Main Choices
Combo Description
1. 3 Boarding & 2 Day
2. 2 Boarding & 3 Day
3. 1 Boarding & 4 Day
4. 5 Day (No Boarding)

2. 2 Boarding (Both Category C)
3. 1 Boarding & 1 Day (B & C)
