GES must begin a ‘back to school’ media tour to alert Students on the reopening of Schools – Educationist

An Educationist and Political Commentator, Claudia Duedu has said that the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Education (MoH) must begin a back to school media tour to inform students at the Pre-Tertiary Education level about the reopening of schools in January.

Claudia made this revelation in a discussion hosted by  Ellis Ferdinand, on Summer Radio on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Accra.

According to Claudia, the GES and the MoH should make gingles of the reopening of schools to be played on radio and televisions as well as on social media to alert students about the possible reopening of schools in January.

Purpose

According to her, the media tour shall wake students up from their long break from school and get them prepared psychologically.

 

Parents

For the contribution of parents towards the preparation of students for academic work, Claudia said parents must begin buying books, uniforms, and other school materials as a form of getting the students prepared psychologically for school in January.

Reopening Plan

Cladia further called on the government to come out with a reopening plan early for teachers and parents to prepare adequately for the new academic year in January 2021.

He said, that the implementation process saw only paper and pencil assessment procedures which was in line with the old objective-based curriculum.
