The Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, has praised Heads of second cycle institutions for having dutifully undertaken their responsibilities as GES implements the Free Senior High School policy.
Speaking at the opening session of a 3-day Retreat for members of Greater Accra Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) at Lee’s Hotel, in the Eastern Region, Prof Opoku- Amankwa assured CHASS that the challenges confronting Secondary education “are being tackled head on as government is making all the efforts to resource the schools; on infrastructure and capacity building.”

Prof. Opoku-Amankwa encouraged the Heads to strengthen the monitoring and supervision system in the various schools to ensure discipline which will ultimately improve upon learning outcomes since the success of the policy is for the betterment of Ghana.
