Female KETASCAN gains admission to study in a US University after Francisca Lamini

EducationGhana| September 6| Female KETASCAN gains admission to study in a US University

The NSMQ champion, Francisca Lamini seems to have paved the way as another young lady from Ketasco was enrolled at a university in the USA on full scholarship soon after hers.

A young lady, Justine Akorfa Dagadu is the first of three children and hails originally from Kedzi, a hamlet along the southeastern coast of Ghana. She however lives in Agbogbloshie with her family and believes this is a miracle and a dream come true.

She has been admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), to start a degree programme on a full scholarship worth $82,000 a year for four years. This scholarship grant came through the Young Achievers Foundation Ghana (YAF Ghana) Scholars Program.

Sharing her story, Justine said “I had my high school education at Keta Senior High School, (Ketasco), where I studied General Science. Here, I learned that I too could reach for the sky and push beyond the limits that surrounded me. But after graduating in 2019, in the top 1% of my class, I would soon realize that furthering my education was looking nearly impossible due to my family’s limited financial situation.

Miss Justine further expressed her gratitude to the Young Achievers Foundation Ghana (YAF Ghana), the MIT Alumni in Ghana, and the KETASCO Past Students Association in Ghana and North America, for the support in making this dream come true for her.
