The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has confirmed that delayed allowances owed to workers in the education sector have now been fully paid.According to the Department, the payments were effected together with December 2025 salaries, bringing relief to affected staff across the education sector.Reason for the Delay Explained
The CAGD earlier attributed the delay to a technical hitch encountered during the final payroll run for November 2025. The issue affected the processing of some education sector allowances.To prevent a wider disruption to the November salary payments for all Government of Ghana workers, the Department explained that processing of the affected allowances was temporarily paused as a precautionary measure.Related Articles

Payments Made Earlier Than Announced
Although the CAGD had initially indicated that the outstanding allowances would be paid on 18 December 2025 alongside December salaries, the Department has clarified that the payments were credited earlier than scheduled, on 16 December 2025, together with December salary payments.Apology and Assurance from CAGD
