Colleges of Education Newly Trained Teachers to be Posted Next Academic Year – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said that Newly Trained Teachers who completed college of Education in 2019 shall be posted to teach in the public basic schools.

Speaking on a Joy Prime Program,” Beyond The Headlines” on Thursday, October 15, 2020, the Deputy Director-General of the Ghana education service, Dr Kwabena Bempah-Tandoh said the GES was prepared to post the teachers including those who completed in the 2017/18 Academic Year as soon as basic schools resume.

“All 2017/2018 people who were referred and had reapplied application processes and employment are being issued. Obviously, those employments are made to basic schools, and basic schools are closed currently. We are ensuring that we continue the entire process even for the ones that are here but as school begins to reopen those teachers would be posted to schools where their services are needed”, he indicated.

The Deputy Director-General emphasized, that the GES shall not postgraduates from the various colleges of education who do not have National Service Certificates.

Speaking on the graduates from other Tertiary Institutions other than the Colleges of Education, the GES said that 6,000 university graduates will be recruited this year.
