Ferdinand EducationGhana | November 26 |  Allowance Delay Sparks Outrage as NDC PROForum Teachers Demand Immediate Action

The NDC PROForum Teachers Wing has condemned delays in paying CPD and digital allowances and is calling for swift government action and a probe into the cause of the non-payment.

NDC PROForum Raises Alarm Over Unpaid Teacher Allowances

The Teachers Wing of the NDC Professionals Forum has criticised the continued delay in paying the Continuous Professional Development allowance and the digital allowance owed to teachers. The group issued a statement on 26 November 2025 noting that the allowances, which form part of the national collective agreement with teachers, remain outstanding well beyond the expected date of payment.

Concerns About Attempts to Undermine Teacher Welfare

The PROForum leadership acknowledged the efforts of national authorities to support the education sector but warned that certain actors may be working against these efforts. The statement suggested that deliberate obstruction may be affecting the timely disbursement of allowances meant to improve teacher welfare.

Call for Swift Payment and a Full Investigation

The group urged the government to address the delay without further hesitation. It further requested an investigation to determine where the breakdown occurred and who may be responsible for withholding the payment. According to the Forum, accountability is essential to prevent future setbacks that affect teachers across the country.

Forum Says Teachers Cannot Be Left Behind

The NDC PROForum Teachers Wing stressed that it will not remain passive while teachers endure avoidable hardship. It encouraged its members and supporters to continue advocating for the release of the allowances and to insist on transparency in the process.
