Transfer of Teachers must wait till 2022 – GES

GES DIRECTOR GENERAL

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has revealed its plans to postpone all matters relating to the transfer of teachers in this academic year.

According to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah, individuals who wish to apply for transfer this year must wait till the next year 2022.

This according to him is due to the change of academic calendar from trimester to semester bases.

Speaking on ‘Mpu ne Mpu’ morning show on United Television (UTV), he indicated that the transfer of teachers this year will not be possible.

In his submission, he indicated that previously, the transfer window used to be opened in May and June but this time around, things have changed because of the change in the academic calendar.

However, teachers are to note that January 2022 will be the appropriate year where the transfer of staff will be possible.
