The Collective Agreement is a document that contains the accepted conditions of service of workers in the Ghana Education Service (GES) as agreed upon by their Union leadership and representatives of the GES at a meeting organized for such purpose.
In August 2020, both parties met to decide on an agreement after the 2009 Collective Agreement expired several years without being renewed.
The Collective Agreement outlined the Content of the Letter of Appointment of teachers recruited into the Ghana Education Service (GES).

According to the Approved Postings and Transfers process for Teachers in the GES, the agreement indicated that;
1 Employee may be assigned duties anywhere in Ghana as the exigencies of the Service may demand.
2 Where the Employer has no funds to pay for transfer grants, GES may desist from transferring teachers.

3 An employee seeking transfer from one institution to another in the same district shall have the transfer cleared by the District Director.
Inter-district transfers involving teachers are to be cleared by the Regional Director. Where the Officer is seeking transfer from one Region to another, this shall be cleared by the Director-General of the GES.

4 Where an employee is married to another employee within the Service or in the public service, the employee may upon request be posted to or closer to the same geographical area to join the spouse.
