EducationGhana| March 13| Teachers in Government Bungalows to pay 10% of their basic salaries: Teachers at the Senior High Schools who occupy government or school bungalows are expected to pay 10% of their basic salaries.
This was contained in a letter dated March 11, 2022, by the Western Regional Education Directorate to all Metropolitan Municipal and District Directors of Education as well as the Heads of all Senior High Schools within the region.

According to the letter, the directive was in line with the efforts to streamline the payment of rent for occupying government /school bungalows, which was indicated in a Ministry of Finance directive number 133385/05/06NTR CAGD of 15th May 2006.
The directive requires that occupants of government bungalows be expected to pay 10% of their basic salaries as rent.
The directive further stated that with effect from March 1, 2022, all Teachers/Staff occupying such bungalows are to pay 10% of their basic salaries.
The teachers were also reminded, that all arrears owed are to be payed to avoid audit issues.
