Tamale Technical University has addressed the recent student protest of September 16, 2025, assuring students that their concerns are being resolved after clashes with police left some injured. Tamale Technical University (TaTU) has officially responded to the student protest that took place on September 16, 2025, which saw students demonstrating over issues affecting their welfare.In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Osman Mubarik Abu, Management acknowledged the right of students to embark on peaceful demonstrations as enshrined in the Students’ Handbook. However, the University expressed regret over the unfortunate clashes between some students and officers of the Ghana Police Service, which led to injuries.According to the statement, Management, in collaboration with student leadership, ensured that all affected students received immediate medical care. All students who sustained injuries have since been treated and discharged.Following the incident, a high-level meeting between Management and student leaders was held, where pragmatic steps were agreed upon to address the concerns raised. The students, after reviewing the proposed roadmap, have since agreed to return to the classroom to continue the semester.Tamale Technical University further extended its appreciation to faculty, traditional authorities, the Ghana Police Service, the media, and all stakeholders for their cooperation in resolving the impasse. The University reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment for its students.
