Ghana Education Service Launches Workforce Transformation Programme (GESWI)

In a progressive step toward enhancing learning outcomes, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced the Ghana Education Service Workforce Initiative (GESWI), an HR transformation programme aimed at aligning the workforce with the Service’s strategic goals.

The initiative is designed to ensure that staff are adequately prepared and equipped to deliver on GES’s mission of improving education across the country. As part of this transformative effort, GES is seeking input from its staff through a confidential survey to guide the implementation of this programme.

Key Pillars of GESWI

The GES Workforce Initiative focuses on four main areas:

Change Management, Service Orientation, and Communication

    • Building a culture of adaptability and effective service delivery.

Strategic Workforce Planning and Capability Building

    • Conducting capability assessments and rolling out targeted training programmes to enhance skills.

Organizational Restructuring

    • Introducing and implementing a new organogram to streamline operations.

Monitoring and Documentation

    • Capturing lessons learned and sharing experiences for sustainable impact.
