The portal for the recruitment of graduates from Ghana Education Service (GES) opened the portal in fulfilment of the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s the country’s Universities has been opened by the Ghana Education Service(GES).
The opening of the portal by the GESl is in fulfilment of the Minister of Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s earlier promise on the recruitment of graduate teachers into the Public Pre-Tertiary Institutions.
The Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) has announced the date for the opening of the portal for the recruitment of graduate teachers into the country’s Pre-Tertiary Schools.
According to NAPO, the portal for the recruitment of graduate teachers shall be opened on Monday, November 2, 2020, by the GES.
He was speaking at the Nation Builders Update held on Wednesday, October 29, 2020 at the premises of the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra.
Mode of Application
The GES in a statement issued on November 2, 2020 indicated that qualified candidates should complete the application form HERE and upload the relevant certificates by November 30, 2020.
The GES further stated, that Applicants should note that the GES reserves the right to post recruited teachers to where their service shall be needed.
Criteria
According to the GES, Applicants who wish to apply should meet the following criteria:
Firstly, the applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Secondly, the Applicant must have completed National Service.
Thirdly, the applicant must have passed the Teacher Licensure Examination.
Finally, the applicant must be prepared to work wherever he or she shall be posted.
Other Relevant Documents
For a graduate from the University to get recruited into the Ghana Education Service(GES), The graduate must be able to submit some necessary document during the application and or registration process.

Exclusions
The statement issued by the GES on November 2, 202o and signed by its Deputy Director General , Anthony Boateng, indicated that the Recruitment Exercise is not applicable to the existing staff of the Ghana Education Service who wish to change their postings.

2017/2018 and 2019/20 Graduate Recruitment
According to him, the Government has recruited 14,170 graduates from the Colleges of Education to occupy vacant classrooms from 2017 to 2018 and 14,500 from 2018 to 2019 as well as 16,500 from 2019 to 2020 respectively.
With regards to graduate employment, he said that the government has recruited 9,100 graduates from 2017 to 2018 during the Limited Recruitment Exercise.
In addition, he said the government has recruited 8,872 graduates from 2018 to 2019 to fill the double-track vacancies at the Senior High Schools.
