Over 500 Senior High School (SHS) students contracted the locally transmitted coronavirus but almost 90% of them have recovered from the killer disease, Dr Patrick Kumah Aboagye has confirmed.
The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kumah Aboagye disclosed this at the Ministry of Information’s Tuesday’s COVID-19 press briefing in Accra.
Dr Patrick Kumah Aboagye attributed the high recovery rate to measures being put in place by the Ghana Health Service to treat students that get infected with the virus.

According to the Health Director, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has made special arrangements for students who have currently not recovered from the virus to sit for the ongoing 2020 WASSCE in order not to leave them behind.
He further disclosed that five teaching staff in the Greater Accra region also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Patrick Kumah Aboagye added that the Ghana Education Service (GES) has liaised with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to immediately respond to COVID-19 related cases.
