NSMQ2019: Chemu SHS sends Lolobi St Mary’s SHS,Mawuko Girls SHS home through ‘Adomi Bridge’ after PRELIMS

One-time finalists, Chemu Senior High took no chances as they recorded the first victory for the 2019 National Science and Maths Quiz.

The Tema-based school scored 53 points to quietly end the journey of Mawuko Girls’ SHS and St Mary’s boys SHS both from the Volta Region.

Lolobi-based St Mary’s despite qualifying from the Volta Region are now geographically part of the Oti Region.

As the competition started in the R.S. Amegashie auditorium of the University of Ghana Business School, Mawuko Girls looked to pose a threat to Chemu, who defeated five-time champions Presec Legon, in the Greater Accra Championship.

However, the Round One toe-to-toe contest became less of a contest in Round Two as Chemu dominated the Speed Race part of the contest.

That tempo continued throughout the contest and it was Chemu SHS and their sympathisers who rejoiced at the end.

UGBS: End of contest:

Chemu SHS: 53pts
EPC Mawuko Girls’ SHS: 25pts
St, Mary’s Sem/SHS, Lolobi: 22pts

Congratulations Chemu SHS! See you at the next stage of competition! #NSMQ2019 #NSMQ2019Prelims

As there is a chance for losers to make it through to the next round, both St Mary’s boys and their partners,

Mawuko Girls would hope their 22 and 25 points respectively should be high enough to be among the 18 highest-scoring-losing schools.
