NSMQ Top 10 Senior High Schools in Ghana 2022

EducationGhana| December  02| NSMQ Top 10 Senior High Schools in Ghana 2022: The 2021 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) ended with very ambitious performances from schools and students across the country.

This year’s edition has produced the best female contestant Francisca Lamini from Keta Senior High Technical School as well as Volta Region getting to the finals for the first time in the competition’s history.

After a thorough analysis of performances from the competing schools, we have below the top 10  Senior High Schools in Ghana who shall reign in 2022 until the next edition of the competition in 2022.

1. PREMPEH COLLEGE

Prempeh College in Kumasi has been adjudged the Best NSMQ Senior High School in Ghana in 2022. They won the trophy for the fifth time in the competition’s history after beating PRESEC-Legon AND KETASCO 53 points against 49    and 30 points respectively.

2. PRESBYTERIAN BOYS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL -LEGON

Legon-based Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-LEGON) in Accra is the 2nd Best NSMQ  Senior High School in Ghana in 2022.

The defending champions lost the battle to Prempeh College after canvasing 49 points behind the trophy winners.

1. KETA SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL

Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) is the 3rd Best NSMQ Senior High School in Ghana in 2022.

The KETASCANS got the most hype during and after the tournament after very impactful performances from their contestants.

They came behind 2nd place Legon PRESEC with 30 points at the grande finale which saw them being the first Schoolfromthe Volta region to get to the finals of the Competiton’s history.

4. OPOKU WARE SHS

Opoku Ware School also from the Ashanti Region came 4th after an impressive performance at the Semi-Finals that saw them being exited by their rivals Prempeh College. They had 59  points at the Semi-Finals while KNUST SHS had 38  points.

5. KNUST SENUIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS) is the fifth Best Senior High School in 2022 according to the 2021 NSMQ statistics.

KNUST SHS had 38 points at the Semi-Finals stage of the 2021 NSMQ behind trophy winners Prempeh College: 67pts, and 34th place Opoku Ware School: 59pts.

1. WESLEY GIRLS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Wesley Girls SHS is the 6th Best Senior High  School in Ghana for the year 2022 According to the 2021 NSMQ statistics.

Wesley Girls from the Central Region put up a splendid performance at the Semi-Final stage to earn 35 points against 3rd place KETASCO and Tamale SHS.

1. St Peters Senior High School

St Peters SHS from the Eastern Region is the 7th Best Senior High  School in Ghana for the year 2022 According to the 2021 NSMQ statistics.

St Peters had 34 points at the Semifinals against 2nd Place School PRESEC-Legon and Tema bAED cHEMU sENIOR High School.

1. TAMALE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Tamale SHS, TAMASCO from the Northern Region is the 8th Best Senior High  School in Ghana for the year 2022 According to the 2021 NSMQ statistics.

TAMASCOP had 31 points in the Semi-Finals against KETASCO and WESLEY GIRLS SHS.

9. CHEMU SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Tema based Chemu SHS is the 9th Best Senior High  School in Ghana for the year 2022 According to the 2021 NSMQ statistics.

Chemu SHS had 21 points in the Semi-Finals against PRESEC-Legon and St Peters SHS.

10. ACCRA ACADEMY SCHOOL

The Accra Academy School is the 10th Best Senior High  School in Ghana for the year 2022 According to the 2021 NSMQ statistics.

The school scored 52 points at the quarter-finals of the NSMQ Competition as the best losing school at the quarter-finals stage of the competition.
